I think it’s important that you ask your surgeon that he/she examine first the severity of your daughter’s mole. This is important because the condition of the mole, as well as size, will help determine what will be the best cosmetic procedure to use.
I presume your daughter’s mole is still a regular (not yet oversized, bleeding or causing itchiness) and still considered to be a healthy one. If this is the case, the ideal removal method for her is the short wave diathermy or curettage which is a cosmetic treatment that takes just a few minutes and will only leave a small scar that will fade with time.
Based on my research, skin graft will result to less scarring since it’s a procedure that will just take off thin layers of skin. On the other hand, serial excision is a bit complicated for it involves a series of skin cutting that may end up with deep, hard to eliminate marks.
Don’t hesitate to ask your doctor regarding this matter since they really know how to answer this. Also, you can request the surgeon to use the latest mole removal technique to your daughter that will result to scarring that is as faint as possible
Good luck on your daughter’s surgery by the way
