I’ve read that a lot of celebrities have c-sections so they can have a tummy tuck at the same time but I don’t know if that’s really true. I’m also wondering if any non-celeb moms have done this and if it’s really a good idea.

Obviously an OB isn’t a plastic surgeron…I didn’t mean to imply that both surgeries would be done by the same doctor.

Damn i wish they woulda said hey u can have a tummy tuck at the same time as when i take ur kid from ur gut….wouldnt that be nice…..i dont much think that ur doc could do that i mean u would have to be specialized in it right? but lol sounds like a good idea to me if they woulda offerd it.

hi, um i don’t really have any advice.But, two people in my family are plastic surgeons, and one of them is often answering questions on realself.com. So that would probably be a better place to ask your question.That way you can get answers and comments from plastic surgeons (who are board certified in plastic surgery)as well as regular people.hope this helps!

My wife and I were watching something on TLC regarding tummy tucks. They showed the surgery and we wondered what they did with the skin. Is it discarded? Do they use it for anything? Could they use it for people that need grafts?

I suppose the person getting the tummy tuck could request to donate their skin to a burn victim. This should be done before the surgery though so that a.) they could find someone who needs the skin, b.) make sure the donor is a match, and c.) put the skin on ice right away during the surgery. (Can’t just scoop it out of the medical waste bin when you are done.)

No, when you get Liposuction the insicions are so small there is no need for a stitch, plus if you get the most common “super wet technique” which shrinks blood vessels and enlarges fat cells, the excess fluid drains from those incisions for the next few days. After that those little incisions heal very well! If too much skin is the issue, then Liposuction isn’t the correct answer and it will not remove skin, that would be an Abdominoplasty. You can continue eating however you want, but the fat cells will accumulate in other parts of the body, so use caution with high fat/carb intake.

With all the hype over Heidie Montag and how she looks now. I was wondering about this question. When people get plastic surgery then, it almost seems they look plastic. But what is it about this surgery that makes the skin look plastic. Because after all, it is skin but, after the surgery the skin almost doesn’t look like skin anymore.. I know it’s called Plastic Surgery for a reason. I just don’t understand why it makes the skin look that way. Do you know why. Thanks you for your answers.
