umm like hundreds of thousands of dollars probably , i dont think you should do it..
you can get like cream though that will supposably tighten the skin if that helps any ?

Depends upon the surgical time (access) that your surgeon has at the hospital. I’d be willing to wait to get the best surgeon. It won’t be too long though.

I had twins 22 years ago, and have given up on the loose skin every going away. I am wondering if anyone can tell me how major of surgery a tummy tuck is, and even approximately the cost of one?

It’s a fairly big surgery, although the surgeon does not go into your abdominal cavity, so it’s not as major as a hysterectomy or colon resection.

The incision goes from hip to hip, and frequently up to the belly button as well (looks like an anchor) The specific incision you get depends on how much skin needs to be removed, and how you fit back together when all the dissection and tightening are done.

They usually take 3-5 hours to do, depending on your size and how fast the surgeon works.

Costs vary dramatically – depends on where in the country you are, for one thing. Many plastic surgeons offer free consultations, and then wil discuss fees.

Results from abdominoplasties that I’ve seen are awesome. I want one. :)

I’m not for it as it’s false, but if it makes people who want to have it happy then I suppose that’s what really matters. Just don’t over do it because it sounds like there’s a lot you don’t like about your appearance, and if you go overboard you could end up looking worse.

At my college, you can be a Scrub Tech (diploma program) in about 1 year, but usually you work in and for the hospital, not specifically with a certain set of docs.

My wife and I were watching something on TLC regarding tummy tucks. They showed the surgery and we wondered what they did with the skin. Is it discarded? Do they use it for anything? Could they use it for people that need grafts?

I suppose the person getting the tummy tuck could request to donate their skin to a burn victim. This should be done before the surgery though so that a.) they could find someone who needs the skin, b.) make sure the donor is a match, and c.) put the skin on ice right away during the surgery. (Can’t just scoop it out of the medical waste bin when you are done.)

There is a certain amount of cosmetic plastic surgery that is done in medical centers, by residents training as plastic surgeons. In general, the medical folks have enough to keep them busy without taking on cosmetic procedures. What type of procedures are you referring too?

I think these celebrities are fake. Look at Michael Jackson. He was a handsome guy before he became white!!! Many celebrities are obsessed with plastic surgery! If I saw them in person, I would think I was on acid because they look like Barbie dolls. Bjork is my favorite celebrity today, she didn’t go under the knife and she is beautiful. Who agrees that celebrities are losing their appeal and becoming fake zombies?

I agree. Plastic surgery does make people look fake. People that get too much plastic surgery eventually end up looking like Micheal Jackson. Plastic surgery is unappealing and it makes people look like plastic barbie dolls. Especially when women get boob jobs (example: Pamela Anderson – yuck!!). I lose respect for people that get too much plastic surgery. Natural is better.
