I had a c-section done 2 weeks ago and I know my stomach will never be the same from my 3rd baby and I wanted to know when can plan to have a tummy tuck? How long do I have to wait to heal?

At least a year and longer if you are breastfeeding. This will give your body plenty of time to heal and your hormones to readjust to a “non-pregnant” state.

My sister waited two years, until she had completed breast-feeding, lost all the weight she could and toned up her abdominal muscles as best she could.
Then she had surgery to correct some herniated abdominal muscle (spaces between muscles caused by their stretching, in which small areas of intestine can protrude) and had a tummy tuck at the same time. All went well, though she didn’t like having to go through the pain of abdominal surgery.

It is an expensive treatment. Depending on where you are having the procedure done on your body will depend on the healing time required. I had it done on my thighs and hips and was uncomfortable for a few days and had to wear a constricting garment. But looking back on it and the results it gave me, it was a waste of money. I was looking for a quick fix and diet and exercise would have been a lot my effective and a lot cheaper.

I was told from a freind who had one that you do have to wait about six weeks, as the motions in the area can tear developing tissue and cause internal bleeding or infection. However, I know a girl who had her breasts done and she wasn’t interested in sex for about that length of time anyway because she didn’t want to be touched…

Depends upon the surgical time (access) that your surgeon has at the hospital. I’d be willing to wait to get the best surgeon. It won’t be too long though.

I’m on a weight loss mission in 2007, and I’m hoping to lose 115 pounds.

I am hoping against hope that I won’t have to have a ton of plastic surgery to achieve the kind of body I want, and I am desperately afraid of being put under general anesthesia.

Has anyone had both a breast lift or reduction and a tummy tuck at the same time under local anesthesia and sedation?

Also, how long did it take you to recover from the surgery? How long did you need to have someone at your home to help you?

I only had the lift/reduction but not the TT. I know others who have had it done.

Im surprised – I have done a search all over the net and cant find any information on this! I have had a tummy tuck done mid December last year and now want to have my navel pierced but Im not sure how long your supposed to wait – I see my surgeon again 22nd Feb so will ask him then but Im wondering if anyone knows anything about this? Since having the tummy tuck my belly button has shrunk as they sewed the skin back to the belly button inside the belly button and I think that piercing it will help hide this as the ball at the end of the bar will cover it.

For those who hate piercings Im really not interested in your opinions – I have other piercings and even a few tattoos – I love them and thats all that really matters to me in the opinion area.

For those with some knowledge in this area I thank you for your suggestions.

You Doctor will probably tell you to wait a full 6 months and then you will have a green light to go ahead with it…

Basically as soon as your body allows you to. Everyone who has a tummy tuck is at different stages of fitness when they undergo the procedure so no one can tell you when exactly to start. I would have thought that after a year however that everything should be ok. Perhaps a visit to the doctor is in order.
