In some cases insurance will pay, yes. A surgeon’s insurance clerk should know what avenues to take in getting the insurance to cover it. Simply call the surgeon you are considering doing the job and ask to speak with the insurance dept. Ask them what prerequisites are generally required to receive insurance payments.

What you need to do is look in your insurance directory and find a PS that is under your insurance. If you go outside of your plan you could pay more out of pocket than you would with someone in your plan.

You just explained it beautifully. Put this in writing (send it return receipt to prove the ins. co. got it!) and send it to them. Include in the letter that you will SUE them if they do not cover this medically necessary procedure. If they still deny coverage, SUE them.

To get the insurance company to cover the surgery your surgeon would need to write a letter of medical necessity to explain the surgery.

Either your policy covers it or it doesn’t. Just “wanting it” isn’t enough. Even if it does cover it, you’d need documentation of medical necessity.

ask the doctor. it all depends what they charge. the insurance can deny the entire cost if you have it done without telling them. they don’t just approve part of a surgery. its all or nothing.

I have not found any insurance that will cover rhinoplasty, but there are companies that will finance a rhinoplasty so that you could pay for it over several years.
