Best answer:

Answer by Lisa W
Depends upon the surgical time (access) that your surgeon has at the hospital. I’d be willing to wait to get the best surgeon. It won’t be too long though.

Best answer:

Answer by heyubuzzme
Any exercise will help. You cannot choose where you lose fat from. That is up to your body type and genetics. Walking, jogging, cycling, rowing swimming are all good cardio exercises to help, lifting weights will help also as muscle burns more energy than fat. All in all burn more calories than you eat and have patience

Answer by TweetyBird
Liposuction is a procedure that can be performed on any part of the body and it doesn’t necessarily firm a body part. Abdominoplasty is performed on the abdomen. It’s the tummy tuck to reshape and firm the abdomen.

Question by one_jamie: How much time should I wait between a tummy tuck and breast surgery?
I’m getting a tummy tuck, some lipo, and plastic surgery for scarring on my leg this Tuesday. I’m also interested in getting breast work done ASAP. I will probably just need a lift instead of an enhancement, but I will leave it to my surgeon to decide. Money is not an issue, my schedule is. How soon after this surgery should I feel well enough for the breast surgery. My surgeon says 6 months and though I respect him and he’s the best, we have already begun to playfully argue considering I’ve had many surgeries before. I’m thinking it’ll be my Thanksgiving present to myself – Christmas at the latest. Any ideas?

Best answer:

Answer by willhemina31
Honestly, I would do it together. Then your only under once for two procedures, your going to be healing anyway.

Question by PlanoBeautyQueen: What is the difference between Slim Liposuction and Smart Liposuction?
I am considering getting Slim Liposuction or Smart Liposuction. I’ve researched various plastic surgeons in Dallas, Plano, Frisco, and Southlake, TX and have found that different practices each specialize in different procedures. Can someone help clarify pros/cons or if you’ve had any of the procedures done?

Best answer:

Answer by Renaissance Plastic Surgery
First introduced in the US, liposuction was a crude procedure compared to today’s traditional liposuction. Recent advances included the use of tumescent solution (local anesthesia) and the use of thinner diameter cannulas. The main problems associated with traditional liposuction are that it is labor intensive, fairly traumatic and physician technique dependent. Patients would have significant discomfort, swelling and bruising after their procedure and depending upon their skin elasticity there would be some skin tightening. In many cases the skin did not retract and instead sagged, and in some cases wrinkled. The results from traditional liposuction varied with the area involved, the elasticity of the patent’s tissues and the amount of fatty tissue removed. In some cases the results were disappointing to the physician as well as the patient.
SmartLipo was developed about three years ago and utilizes a 1064 nanometer laser platform. Using a stainless steel “wand”, laser energy is imparted to the subcutaneous tissues. The two wavelengths used are 1064 and 1320 nm. Both of these wavelengths are absorbed by water and generate a fair amount of heat to the tissues. The fat cells are disrupted and collagen fibers are shortened by the heat generated. The liquid waste and disrupted fatty tissue are then suctioned out using small traditional liposuction cannulas. SmartLipo makes it easier to remove the fat and results in tightening of the skin, and therefore is superior to traditional liposuction alone.
Bruising and swelling post op are lessened because the small blood vessels are coagulated by the laser energy. There are some problems with this technology. The “wand” is stiff and can’t turn corners and is limited. The heat generated at the laser tip is significant and can result is tissue burns, and the laser wavelengths used are non-specific for fatty tissue.
Slim Lipo came on the market last year and was the result of 6 years of research. Slim Lipo uses 925 nanometers and 975 nanometers wavelenghts that were developed after research showed that these wavelengths were very specifically absorbed by fatty tissue. 925 actually “melts” the fat and results in liquefying the fatty tissue with much less energy than SmartLipo. 975 nm is more specifically absorbed by collagen fibers and results in more specific tightening without using excessive heat. Slim lipo uses a flexible wand made out of silicone fibers and can turn corners. The laser wand delivers energy to a much wider area and therefore “melts” many more cells with each pass, and requires less energy to do the job. Slim Lipo patients have much less bruising, swelling and discomfort that patients who have had traditional liposuction.
Bottom line: Slim lipo is the next generation of laser assisted liposuction and is superior in its results, ease of use and patient safety. Recently, I have combined Body Jet water assisted liposuction(WAL) with Slim Lipo for even better results.

Check out this cool video on showing the difference between Slim Lipo and Smart Lipo:

Silicone v. Saline Implants
Some surgeons feel that silicone implants have a more natural look and feel than saline implants because silicone gel has a texture that is similar to breast tissue.
Saline implants have some advantages. Silicone implant ruptures are harder to detect. When saline implants rupture, they deflate and the results are seen almost immediately. When silicone implants rupture, the breast often looks and feels the same because the silicone gel may leak into surrounding areas of the breast without a visible difference. Replacing a ruptured silicone gel implant is more difficult than repairing a saline implant. Silicone implants also have a higher rate of capsular contracture and a higher deflation rate.
SALINE
Saline implants have a silicone rubber shell that is inflated to the desired size with sterile saline. Most implants have a valve that is sealable by the surgeon. There are two types of saline-filled implants. One type is a fixed volume implant, which is filled with the entire volume of saline at implantation. Another type is an adjustable volume implant, which is filled intraoperatively and has the potential for further postoperative adjustment. On May 10, 2000, the FDA granted approval of saline-filled breast implants manufactured by Mentor Corporation and McGhan Medical.
SILICON
Silicone implants have a silicone rubber shell that is filled with a fixed amount of silicone gel. Each implant has a patch that covers the manufacturing port of the implant. Silicone implants vary in shell surface – smooth or textured; shape, profile, volume, shell thickness, and number of shell lumens. Most silicone gel-filled implants are not adjustable.
In the early 1990′s it was reported that silicone breast implants were responsible for connective tissue diseases in some women. After a comprehensive evaluation of the evidence for the Association of Silicon Breast Implants with human health conditions, the Institute of Medicine concluded in June that there is “no definitive evidence linking breast implants to cancer, neurological diseases, neurological problems or other systemic diseases.”
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services states:
“For some years controversy has existed over silicone implants used for breast augmentation or replacement after mastectomy. Adverse effects from their use have been widely reported in the popular press, with conflicting information often appearing in the medical literature. This controversy led the FDA first to ban any use of these implants and then to permit limited use, mainly as replacement after mastectomy.
Silicone is used not only in breast implants but also in implants located literally throughout every part of the body. It has been used: to construct heart valves and other cardiovascular prostheses; to fashion catheters which are used for purposes ranging from medication delivery to cardiac monitoring; in dentistry; as a facilitator for nerve regeneration; in ophthalmology; in the respiratory tract; as a prosthesis or ingredient in prostheses for many parts of the skeletal system; as a tissue expander; as a cosmetic agent for treatment of scars and wrinkles; and in many other applications.”
