hi, um i don’t really have any advice.But, two people in my family are plastic surgeons, and one of them is often answering questions on realself.com. So that would probably be a better place to ask your question.That way you can get answers and comments from plastic surgeons (who are board certified in plastic surgery)as well as regular people.hope this helps!

I was told from a freind who had one that you do have to wait about six weeks, as the motions in the area can tear developing tissue and cause internal bleeding or infection. However, I know a girl who had her breasts done and she wasn’t interested in sex for about that length of time anyway because she didn’t want to be touched…

I actually just wanted to answer this.lol. It goes to your arms, legs and butt. I have probably lost a lot of muscle because of the tummy tuck and it seems my arms and legs have turned to jello so watch out. Reduce calories until you can work out as normal. Time for me to hit the gym again.

My mother recently got a tummy tuck on May 14, 2010 and she is having a lot of gas, she said it’s because of the Anesthesia, but after this long a time you’d think that would be out of her system. The gas (I’m assuming you are referring to intestinal gas) is not likely to be from the anesthesia. If she is on opiate pain medications, that is more likely to be the culprit.

Opiates slow the digestive tract down, so things will sit in there longer and may produce more gas.

Talk to her surgeon, and ask about simethicone, Colace, or other laxatives to keep things moving. Best thing is to get off the opiates ASAP.

I had tumescent liposuction on the “saddlebags” of my outer thighs. The day after surgery, I noticed the results! The saddlebags were gone, although the area was bruised and lumpy looking. Now, after four days, my thighs look almost as big as they were before. If I hadn’t seen the 850 cc’s of fat with my own eyes, I would swear nothing had been removed. What is going on? Is it just swollen? Is it going to shrink again? Is there anything I should be doing to encourage the swelling to go down? Arrggghh!

i believe it takes about 4 weeks for the swelling to be less noticeable.

Ask your Doctor. But it usually takes at least a month for wounds to heal after surgery. Get a sling for your arm and if anyone asks, you were in a auto accident. Then you can travel without the wierdness.

congrats on the weight loss! surgery cost depends on area,country, and most importantly supply/demand ratio.in my area a complete tuck-up(sculpting) would cost upto a few 100 $((indian rs))…aka medical tourism
