How Is Rhinoplasty Or A Nose Job? I Want To Know All The Good & Bad About This Procedure.?

Well Im fifteen years old and Im thinking about getting Rhinoplasty. And no this isnt for a superficial reason of achieving the look of “perfection.” This is for me. I got into a accident when I was younger, and I broke my nose. At that time, it wasnt major that I got it fixed. But now I see a big hump in my nose, that I would love to be gone! So Im thinking of undergoing rhinoplasty in the summer. I want to know all the good and the bad about this surgery. Thanks!

Pros: you will be able to breathe easier out of your nose, Nose won’t be crooked anymore.
Cons: When the Doctor breaks the bone to reset it, you will get two black and blue eyes; alot of swelling, and splints in your nose so you will not be able to breathe through it. This also means since you can’t smell, so you can barely taste your food until you get the splints out.
What ever you do, if you get the surgery, do not bump your nose during the healing process. I did and had to have another surgery. And when I bumped it, it was probably the most painful feeling I have ever experienced. I punched a hole in the wall.

Nose job is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Tour2india4health Consultants .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.
Tour2india4health Consultants is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.http://www.tour2india4health.com
Hope this helps.

Doesn’t really matter, either way you will feel the pain and then once that’s gone you’ll feel beater about yourself. i do suggest you don’t do it during summer when you want to be out and about, you need to allow time for healing.

This website has some comprehensive information about rhinoplasty:
http://www.plasticsurgery.org/patients_consumers/procedures/Rhinoplasty.cfm
This site has a really good analysis of the entire procedure and the complications that could arise from it. However, it does use a lot of medical jargon and is likely to be directed towards medical professionals. It’s not impossible to understand though:
http://www.emedicine.com/ent/topic120.htm
Just to make a summary of what I’ve found over the internet, the only disadvantage seems to be that:
1) You will have a splint applied to your nose for about the week to help your nose to heal,
2) Having to take anti-inflammatory drugs and painkillers (but this goes for almost any other surgery anyway)
3) Avoid blowing your nose
4) Avoid wearing glasses
5) Risk of revision rhinoplasty: since rhinoplasty is a difficult procedure, you might have to go for another one in the future. But if you get your rhinoplasty done at a decent hospital, there is only a 5% chance that this, or any other major complication, will happen.
